What is Impack Packaging's IN180 Box Turner?

What is Impack Packaging's IN180 Box Turner?

If you own an Automatic packer such as Bobst's CartonPack, you may need to turn your boxes 180° before they can be packed into the case.

If your boxes need to be turned 180°, and you don’t have a box turner, then your packing staff would need to manually pack your boxes into the cases.

This means:

👉 More manual labor for your staff.

👉 Slower packing speeds and diminishing productivity.

👉 Less ergonomic workstations and greater RSI for your operators and packing staff.

How do you turn your boxes before packing them into cases?

Do your operators turn them by hand or is your process automated?

If you answered “by hand,” then you are probably losing out on major productivity gains and business that you could have otherwise taken advantage of.

At Impack packaging, we work with some of the biggest names in the packaging industry.

And, as a Mechanical Engineer and an Impack Packaging Expert for the last 4 years, I have seen first-hand what the most and least successful box manufacturers do.

The biggest names in the packaging industry all share one thing in common: They automate the turning of their boxes thus allowing them to serve more clients, at higher packing speeds, and close bigger contracts.

What if I told you that you can achieve similar results as the biggest names in the industry?

“How?”

By integrating a box turner.

One of those box turners that we regularly offer to clients is Impack packaging's IN180 Box Turner.

This article will cover Impack's IN180 Box Turner: What it is, its pros and cons, and who it is best suited for.

Impack's IN180 box turner is the ideal solution if you need to turn your boxes 180°.

Depending on your customer’s requested case packing configuration, you may need to rotate your boxes 180° so that they can be packed with an Automatic packer such as Bobst's CartonPack

95% of the time, automatic packers like Bobst's CartonPack work without the need to turn your boxes 180°.

That said, when a specific box type needs to be turned 180° for whatever reason, the Cartonpack cannot do it.

Instead, your operators or packing staff would need to process this specific box on another folder-gluer which involves additional setups and important investments.

Alternatively, you can integrate Impack packaging's IN180 and save time, money, and a lot of hassle.

The IN180 Box Turner rotates all types and sizes of boxes 180° and it also offers a straight line mode when no turning is needed.

The IN180 Box Turner combines two right-angle transfer sections with multiple sets of rollers and belts to provide a 180° turn and a straight through path.

The IN180 remains fixed regardless of the mode chosen (180° or straight line).

Compatible with carton and corrugated board, it self-adjusts and can be paired with any Impack packer or non-Impack packer.

IN180 Box Turner Features:

  • The best 180° turner for automatic packers like Bobst's CartonPack.

  • Compatible with small to medium-sized boxes.

  • Installed between the folder-gluer’s delivery belt and an Automatic packer.

  • Offers you 2 possible turning orientations: 180° or straight through.

Pros of the IN180 Box Turner:

  • The IN180 Box Turner offers additional case packing configurations to your automatic packer.

  • The IN180 helps you avoid extra setups and investments associated with running boxes on another folder-gluer. Hence, you save time and money which ultimately leads to productivity gains and increased packing speeds.

Cons of the IN180 Box Turner:

  • No viable cons that I can think about.
